“The night sky is always there, inexhaustible and fundamental to the understanding of nature. It puts before us considerations we would never have thought of, but for it.”.

Our Next Event
Events at the Royal Observatory
Our events programme runs throughout the year, and includes:
Our Astronomy Talk series ‘Astronomy Talks for All‘ is running in November and December with future dates to follow. The series is suitable for those with little to no background in astronomy and technology, as well as those who would enjoy a deeper dive into the work of our scientists.
Our Nights at the Royal Observatory Edinburgh events are not available while extensive refurbishments are being made to our buildings.
Occasionally we run special events with partners around Edinburgh and as part of wider festivals or events.
